FREE Music Festival – Local & National Indigenous Artists

On September 26, 2026 2 Rivers Remix (2RMX) – in partnership with the Toquaht Nation – will present a FREE outdoor Festival of contemporary Indigenous Music, art and culture at the heart of Macoah Village, Vancouver Island, BC at t̓uk̓ʷaaʔatḥiic hišimyiły̓ak (Toquaht Gathering Place). Attendees can expect to see live contemporary music performances in a wide variety of genres, alongside traditional Nuu-Chah-Nulth songs and dances, as well as food and market vendors.

The Toquaht Movable Feast opens at noon with a Welcoming Ceremony from the Toquaht Nation and Elders, as well as a special opening ceremony by Mexika-Tenochka artist Ana Cornejo. The festival highlights beloved local Nuu-Chah-Nulth youth artists HASAATUK (Nuu-Chah-Nulth/ Cree), and KIVA MH (Nuu-Chah-Nulth/Secwépemc). Other featured performers include Anishnaabe poet, singer/songwriter, and MC from Little Saskatchewan First Nation, LEONARD SUMNER, Toquaht’s own Intergenerational healing roots-rhizome, hip-hop fusionists THE MELAWMEN COLLECTIVE, Juno Award Nominee SIIBII (Cree), soulful pop heart-opening HAYLEY WALLIS (Kitasoo/Xais’xais), and Resident Elder Artist and Inuvialuit folk-rock legend WILLIE THRASHER and Linda Saddleback. The evening will close with a live DJ set; an epic collab between the Godfather of Powwow Step, SHUB and Anishinaabe/Métis/North African global bass weaver, producer and DJ, HANDSOME TIGER.

2RMX’s Movable Feast on Vancouver Island is FREE with pre-registration and will be live-streamed to promote accessibility. Everyone can witness this incredible Indigenous artistry.

Each Movable Feast date is preceded by the Melawmen Space Workshop Day on the Friday, facilitating movement, youth programming, artist meet & greets, cultural workshops and more.

2 Rivers Remix Society is the instigator and organiser of The 2 Rivers Remix (2RMX), an annual 3-day Feast of contemporary Indigenous Music and Culture. Since its incorporation in 2018 2RMX was hosted by the Nlaka’pamux Nation in Tl’kemtsin/Lytton, BC, until the devastating fire that incinerated most of our host community in 2021. In 2022, 2 Rivers Remix Society evolved towards a decentralised, Indigenised feast model called the "Movable Feast", that brings a series of contemporary Indigenous music and culture events direct to multiple small indigenous communities across BC.
