The Confluence Showcase: Rhizome 2 Resurgence Part II

FREE Indigenous Music Movable Feast at Splatsin Centre on March 8

Featuring Guest Artist Jeremy Dutcher

Rivers Remix Society (2RMX), VirtualFeast.ca and Splatsin Community Centre are proud to announce the upcoming ‘Confluence: Rhizome 2 Resurgence Showcase’ FREE Indigenous music feast, featuring Two-Spirit song carrier, composer, activist, and ethnomusicologist Jeremy Dutcher, from Tobique First Nation, Turtle Island.

Building on the momentum of Part I, 2RMX, hosted by the Splatsin people and territory, will present a FREE in-person and livestreamed special Movable Feast production of contemporary Indigenous Music at the beautiful Splatsin Community Centre, a ‘modern facility with a traditional design’, on Secwepemc Territory, near Splatsin/Enderby, BC.

The ‘Confluence: Rhizome 2 Resurgence Showcase opens at 2:00 pm with a Welcoming Ceremony from the Splatsin nation and elders as well as a special opening ceremony by Mexika-Tenochka artists Ana Cornejo and Leo Vara. The showcase continues with an incredibly talented line-up of diverse Indigenous artists, headlined by two-time Polaris Music Prize, Two-Spirit, classically trained operatic tenor and composer JEREMY DUTCHER

Jeremy’s artistry promises to be the highlight of the event, bringing the Confluence experience to a transformative culmination. His performance will weave together themes of cultural resilience, hope, and inspiration, leaving attendees energized and empowered to continue the work of community change.”

Meeka Morgan, 2 Rivers Remix Artistic Director

2 Rivers Remix Society is the instigator and organiser of The 2 Rivers Remix (2RMX), an annual 3-day Feast of contemporary Indigenous Music and Culture. Since its incorporation in 2018 2RMX was hosted by the Nlaka’pamux Nation in Tl’kemtsin/Lytton, BC, until the devastating fire that incinerated most of our host community in 2021. In 2022, 2 Rivers Remix Society evolved towards a decentralised, Indigenised feast model called the "Movable Feast", that brings a series of contemporary Indigenous music and culture events direct to multiple small indigenous communities across BC.
