2 Rivers Remix announces ‘skəlɣap Movable Feast’ of Indigenous Music and Culture – FREE in snpintktn (Penticton) on March 28, 2024.

A creative confluence of partners 2RMX, En’owkin Centre, and Ignite the Arts Festival, celebrate the awakening of spring buds and blossoming of creative partnerships in syilx territory ~ on March 28th, 2024 at the Cleland Theatre (6-10pm) – their 3rd annual collaboration which also launches 2RMX’s 2024 season of all-Indigenous performances.

Headlining will be Leela Gilday, Dene diva, double JUNO winner (2021 Indigenous Artist of the Year) and En’owkin instructor from Great Bear Lake … Get ready to journey to our North Star without leaving your seat! Leela’s power comes straight from the earth, as she reaches into the hearts of every person and guides our journey. Wending our way across to the Northwest, Ts’msyen musician Saltwater Hank from Hartley Bay/Prince Rupert will give us a spoonful of oolichan grease musical medicine, blending rock and roll with the cultural strength of his traditional language. Also gracing us with Northern light is Dakelh artist Sabina Dennis (Luksilyoo clan – her heavy guitar and vocal invocations of protecting, respecting, regenerating our dear Mother Earth.

From southern Secwpemc territories, The Melawmen Collective will bring their roots-rock-hip-hop, weaving intergenerational healing of stories and sound.  Also joining us will be multidisciplinary Anishinaabe / N’lakapamux artist Amanda Wood, in her 2nd year of the En’owkin Centre’s National Indigenous Professional Artist Training Program (NIPAT), who has been soulfully singing her way through her traditional language learning with ancestral roots and rhythm.

Joining from Condor country, Mexika-Tenochka artist Ana Cornejo whose dance forms travel the bridges between nations whose roots overlap through time, and Judith Colibri, who explores art as medicine, and the power of dance as a tool for personal and collective transformation.

Please register below to join us FREE on March 28th, 6-10 pm, at the Cleland Theatre to witness this incredible indigenous artistry!  Event will also be livestreamed to promote accessibility.

Doors open at 5:00pm

To protect our Elders and all members of our 2 Rivers Remix community, we have provided masks for those who want to wear one. We strongly encourage you to wear a mask if you have been feeling unwell recently or if someone in your household is currently sick. We ask that those who are currently sick watch the live-stream from home this year to reduce the spread of illness!

2 Rivers Remix Society is the instigator and organiser of The 2 Rivers Remix (2RMX), an annual 3-day Feast of contemporary Indigenous Music and Culture. Since its incorporation in 2018 2RMX was hosted by the Nlaka’pamux Nation in Tl’kemtsin/Lytton, BC, until the devastating fire that incinerated most of our host community in 2021. In 2022, 2 Rivers Remix Society evolved towards a decentralised, Indigenised feast model called the "Movable Feast", that brings a series of contemporary Indigenous music and culture events direct to multiple small indigenous communities across BC.
