Land Back Records celebrates it’s official launch featuring Dakota Bear + Drezus’s at Fortune Night Club.
The event will also showcase Indigenous and Afro-Indigenous artists such as Prado Monroe, Sekawnee, Eros Taylor, Pîsim, Michelle Heyoka + Special Guests.
DJ RICH A + DJ O SHOW will be spinning for the night.

DAKOTA BEAR IS a Saskatoon-born, Vancouver-based Indigenous hip-hop artist and activist. His melodic rhymes carry stories of Indigenous peoples across Canada leaving listeners enlightened, inspired, and instant fans of his music and message. His performances range from audiences of 30,000 (Global Climate Strike with Greta Thunberg, Vancouver, October 2019) to inspirational performances for youth in remote communities in Northern Canada. His work with Idle No More, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirited Peoples and the Global Climate Strike movement has intertwined his music with international social-justice movements and connected him with fans across the country. He’s shared stages with legendary greats like Bone Thugs n Harmony, Redman & Methodman, TechN9ne and more. His music has been shared by Noisey, Exclaim!, Hip Hop Canada, Digital Drum and numerous grassroots-news outlets, while his online videos have collectively amassed more than 1 million views. His quest for love, justice and peace is unwavering, with his melodic rhymes and iconic beats carrying his message to the masses and beyond.

Orene Askew, aka DJ O Show, brings energy and expertise to every event she hosts and DJ’s. She brings professionalism and passion and remains true to her love for hip hop and R&B, incorporating beats to ensure you never want to leave the dance floor! DJ O Show has experience teaching with an inspired approach. She is an inspirational speaker, having traveled across the country to bring ambition and drive to all generations, and is an elected member of the Squamish Nation Chief & Council. Coming from a diverse background, O Show is driven by her passion. She is Afro-Canadian and First Nations and a proud member of the Squamish Nation. Feeling as though she stood out in a unique way, she has embraced both her cultural backgrounds and incorporates the teachings she has learned into everything she does.

Drezus has been a staple in the Indigenous music scene for over a decade. Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and from the Muskowekwan and Cote First Nations respectively, Drezus has opened up a new world that combines traditional Anishinaabe and Nehiyaw teachings with hip-hop music and expression. He credits his growth and perseverance through life’s challenges to the creative arts.
Drezus won five Indigenous Music Awards from 2013-2015, was nominated for a Juno in 2009, and most recently won a MTV Video Music award for “Best Fight Against the System” in 2017 with Taboo of The Black Eyed Peas. In 2019 he appeared on the acclaimed Paramount Network TV series, “Yellowstone” alongside Kevin Costner in Season 2.
